Job Duties:
- Perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants
- Perform plant operations duties including checking, troubleshooting and improvement pumping and treatment facilities
- Analyze chemical processes and perform process controls
- Operate, maintain, control and repair plant process equipment including pumps, motors, chlorinators, chemical feeds, and basic lab instruments to ensure treated water/wastewater meets County, State and EPA quality standards
- Calculate chemical feed rates and change pump settings as needed
- Monitor telemetry systems
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting
Requirements:
- This position requires at a minimum a TCEQ Class C Dual Water and Wastewater license
- a high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience
- hands-on experience and expertise with computers, ipads and data collection software
- Must have solid knowledge of the operations, methods, practices, techniques and servicing requirements of treatment plants and pumping facilities
- Ability to read and interpret meters, charts, gauges and recording devices
- This position is subject to call out, overtime, weekend, holiday and emergency call outs and on call duty
- Must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds and tolerate extreme heat
- Must also possess a valid Texas driver’s license with excellent driving record
