WATER / WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR A,B, or C

Job Duties:

  • Perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants
  • Perform plant operations duties including checking, troubleshooting and improvement pumping and treatment facilities
  • Analyze chemical processes and perform process controls
  • Operate, maintain, control and repair plant process equipment including pumps, motors, chlorinators, chemical feeds, and basic lab instruments to ensure treated water/wastewater meets County, State and EPA quality standards
  • Calculate chemical feed rates and change pump settings as needed
  • Monitor telemetry systems
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting

Requirements:

  • This position requires at a minimum a TCEQ Class C Dual Water and Wastewater license
  • a high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience
  • hands-on experience and expertise with computers, ipads and data collection software
  • Must have solid knowledge of the operations, methods, practices, techniques and servicing requirements of treatment plants and pumping facilities
  • Ability to read and interpret meters, charts, gauges and recording devices
  • This position is subject to call out, overtime, weekend, holiday and emergency call outs and on call duty
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds and tolerate extreme heat
  • Must also possess a valid Texas driver’s license with excellent driving record

Maintenance Technician

All applicants must be willing to go on call and work late when needed. In addition, this position may include overtime to meet the needs. Successful candidates must possess strong mechanical and interpersonal skills and function well within a team. The successful candidate must have a strong passion for results and be able to demonstrate impeccable attendance while working in an environment of varying temperature extremes. All candidates must be able to perform frequent physical activity in the form of lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, etc.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years job related experience and/or training
  • Make sound mechanical judgments during preventive and corrective equipment maintenance
  • Read and interpret OEM Manuals
  • Perform mechanical piping, valve, and pump repairs
  • Read precision instruments
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with good engineering practices on utility systems.
  • Water and Wastewater systems (pumps, valves, storage tanks, mixers, etc.) a plus
  • Able to work in adverse temperatures, and damp environments, required
  • Basic computer skills preferred a plus
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test
  • Must also possess a valid Texas driver’s license with excellent driving record.

Customer Service Representative

This is an entry level position that will have on the job training. Daily job duties will consist of helping customers with their account balance, create work orders, assist customers with signing up for new service/cancel service , and any other questions customers may have about their water utility account. There will be customers that come into the office for assistance, but a majority of the time will be spent on the phone helping customers with their account. 

Bilingual is a plus, but not required.

Pay:

  • $11.00hr-$12.00hr

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00AM- 5:00 PM
  • 1hour lunch

Field Technician (Entry)

  • Meter Reading
  • Meter installing/ Uninstalling
  • Meter Change Outs
  • Disconnecting/Reconnecting Customer Connections
  • District Flushing
  • Minor Repairs on District Assets (blow offs, manholes, Fire Hydrants, Etc.)
  • Fire Hydrant Painting

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience and expertise with computers, ipads and data collection software.
  • Ability to read and interpret meters,
  • Ability to read and interpret districts maps & plans.
  • Must be available to go on call and work overtime on weekends, holidays and emergency call outs.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must also possess a valid Texas driver’s license with excellent driving record.
